Fordite On Leather Cord

Fordite or "motor agate" necklace on leather cord
- Fordite or "motor agate" was formed by the overspray
of paint in automobile manufacturing
- The overspray built up on the tracks the cars were painted on and
put in ovens to cure the paint. These layers of paint were then
removed when they became too thick.
- These chunks of built up paint were salvaged and then cut and polished
to be turned into "stones"
- Cars are no longer painted in this manner so Fordite is in limited supply
This slice of Fordite has a different pattern on each side, measures
1 1/2" long 3/4" wide
Leather cord is adjustable to 24" long
